Eat Grim – Barbora Gadlinova

I worked as a brand designer, illustrator and photographer at Eat Grim, the Copenhagen-based start-up for about 2 years. My areas of focus fluctuated into many different disciplines and this experience created a playground for me to explore new disciplines and take the lead in things even thought they might have been my first time including video editing, content creation and packaging design. I have developed the entirety of the brand’s visuals including the logo design, font and colour system, all printed materials, email newsletters, a library of brand images and videos, and lastly, the packaging design for the company’s product. By the end end of my collaboration, Eat Grim had gained over 2500 regular subscribing customers and over 20 000 followers on Instagram.

Brand manual

It all started with a logo and a bold font. The brand manual describes motive behing the logo which is a misshapen pear accompanied by Rubik font, which the brand has been recognized by. The color scheme consists of bold and mostly earthy colors representing the diversity and playfulness .

Packaging design

The Eat Grim packaging design, which comes in three different sizes for the three main products, is an essential part of the brand. The box itself is used to help the company misson come across by promoting eliminating food waste, as well as using one of the sides to explain why are these products in the box and how they ended up there.

Photography

The photography style of Eat Grim's brand is vibrant, bright and always colourful, showing the delicious misshapen produce in the most delicious and fun light.
